This is the small-office grade color laser printer currently hooked up to the AHA wired network. It's located by the AHA PCs.
Using the printer from Linux laptop
Instructions on how to use the printer from Linux. Requires the foo2hp package.
Fedora 20
- Make sure cups is installed and the daemon is running
- yum install foo2hp
- Open browser, go to localhost:631
- Click Administration, add printer
- HP Color Laserjet 2600n should show up as a discovered network printer, select it and continue
- Name the printer and continue
- Under make, select HP, continue
- Select the foomatic driver for HP Color Laserjet 2600n
- Use printer

- Connection: USB
- Currently connected to: ALLHANDSACTIVE (HP Touchscreen Computer in main workspace)
- The toner cartridge is low, and SUPER finicky. The cartridge that came with it requires a mysterious amount of pushing to get it into position.
- If the toner door doesn't close with a quick forceful snap, then the toner probably isn't in all the way. It does NOT require lots of force.
- Printer loading tray is missing, which makes it funky to load paper. See image for wonderful example of functional setup.
- It does not have built in network support.
- It is hooked up to the main HP machine for the moment. Initial google search for linux support seems to be fairly negative.
Things to do
- Find a good location for this guy, document how to print to it (should be easily printable from MacOS, Windows, Ubuntu)
- Find proper paper tray
