Template:Guideline All members at AHA strive to "Be awesome to each other." This page gives examples of how to be awesome in different scenarios.

In General

  • It is awesome to strive to be more awesome.
  • It is awesome to introduce yourself when someone enters the space and you don't know them.
  • It is awesome to make people feel comfortable and welcome in the space.
  • It is awesome to tactfully tell someone how to be more awesome. It is not awesome to unhelpfully criticize someone for not being awesome -- try to be constructive and patient with them.
  • It is awesome to communicate needs instead of criticisms. Example "I need some table space to work on my project, would you be able to clear any of this table for me to use?" instead of "Look at this mess! You are a horrible human being! This is not awesome at all!"
  • It is awesome to broadcast positivity, and channel negativity. Example: Being generous with "thank yous", and resolving disputes in private emails instead of in public.
  • It is awesome to share skills and information freely. This is the Currency of AHA.
  • It is possible to be awesome by being safe, and abiding by the Membership Responsibilities

When someone else is not being awesome

  • When someone is not being awesome, it is awesome to talk to them in private if you feel you are able to do so safely. It is not awesome to single them out at a meeting or on our chat server.
  • If you are unable to get results, please bring it to the attention of the Directors at board@allhandsactive.org.
