Minutes
- Announcements/new business:
- Operations:
- "garage sale"
- This really needs to happen, , within the next year. Clearing space would enable us to do a lot more activities without as much preparation, easier to clean the space routinely, etc. (i.e. see below)
- open house (as pressure to clean up)
- The group generally feels like there is low motivation to do this, so this will not be happening unless someone spearheads it.
- Changed Saturday's Open Hours to Sunday
- So far hasn't really changed anything in terms of attendance. It's pretty dead during Open Hours. Nate: willing to stick with it for a while longer before making any other adjustments.
- Nate: if there are volunteers willing to spearhead it, we are definitely in a spot to look at hosting other public hours events during the week.
- PC upgrades:
- Nate: Laser PC upgraded. The headless Framework is also working (had a docking station compatibility issue?), so we have yet another modern computer we can use for something.
- Meg: Job board should be used to provide volunteers some easy-to-start options to meet their volunteering requirements
- Nate is available to help organize/brainstorm these things anytime.
- Other job tracking things we have already include posting in #Operations, or using our Trello (basically dead now; but there to use if there's any interest in doing so).
- Signage: How do we get more foot traffic down here?
- Can we update the exterior signage in any way to make it more inviting/interesting?
- Nate: it's been many years since we discussed anything with building management here, but the options were (at the time) pretty slim.
- We have a sandwich board sign to put out; but it needs updated, and there needs to be someone who is on on point for putting it out -- and more importantly bringing it back in, lest it get taken (presumably by the City).

- Financial:
- Financial Position: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1MzXmxSWMkfTr5V958EfMwJnQxNYBGY5K/view?usp=drive_link
- Financial Activity: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uP_3WR84rWygGYDW51iG4MuDgr3_MU9_/view?usp=drive_link
- Bank accounts still more than $45000.
- Bank accounts bouncing around more than before due to fiscal sponsorship arrangement with Krista
- Almost $1000 benefit to AHA so far from fiscal sponsorship
- Still need to switch GFM to UMCU, and close huntinton bank accounts
- EOY Fundraiser
- Basically has run its course, did not raise much money. We will not have as much financial leeway to get us through 2026.
- City Personal Property Statement - Nate Y.
- How did we handle this last year? There is some path for non-profits to follow, but would like to learn more about what happened last time before following these. -- Robyn?
- It claims we need to address this sometime before 2/20/2026
- Victoria to send CPA lead to David if we can't figure out what Robyn did
- Recurring meat-space bank deposits - Nate Y.
- We badly need someone to take ownership of getting this done regularly.
- $51 -> $199 utilities estimate? - Mike to investigate, time permitting
- Digital Ocean "DO Impact"
- David reached out last week; no response yet other than auto-responder:
Thank you for your interest in DO Impact! We received your submission and a member of the team will be reaching out as quickly as possible with the next steps.
- David reached out last week; no response yet other than auto-responder:
- Membership:
- -5 / +1 or 2? last month. Lots of new year membership churn this time around.
- Outreach:
- Jade: Get more photos of folks working on things to post to social media. Come up with good workarounds where folks might not want their faces online, e.g. redacting faces, or taking photos that don't show faces in the first place.
- Jade: More promotion of the volunteering tier of membership at any events we do, or tours we give of the space -- particularly where there are college-age folks
- Meg and Mike: Set up a whiteboard of upcoming events, put it out with the "project board" on the table outside, create a volunteering task to keep it up to date.
- Upcoming events:
- 3D Printing 101 - Jan. 18 @ 6pm. Currently is booked up with 8 RSVPs. - Nate
- coworking spaces to partner with or advertise at
- BrightWorks - Opening new space above our shop. David has reached out.
- (reminder for next time) the Ecology Center - No update
- immaculate collective next February? - No update
- Education:
- Meshtastic (maybe January? but there's sure to be interest in the community, based on the number of nodes in the area) -- Mike/Nate
- Nate: Still interested in doing this, but will need to pin down a time with Mike that will actually work.
