A breakdown of the various computers and other computing hardware currently at the space.

We also have 2 Oculus Rifts on loan from Craig Albert.

Macs

MacBook Pro - 15" Retina Mid 2012

Used largely for CNC drawing at events. Battery is in bad shape.

This is the 3D printing computer.

Servers and VMs

Dell R510

Running proxmox and hosting "production" VMs

  • 24 CPU cores
  • 256GB RAM
  • a couple 1 or 2TB spinners
  • we should put the disks from the dell R710 in the R510

Ubuntu Docker host VM

This is a vm running ubuntu LTS, targeted at running whatever miscellaneous "production" stuff the space may need. docker containers in particular, but not limited to that

Sun Xfire 4x00

This is a quite old server, not very power efficient. it is intended to be a playground for playing around with whatever, but not for any long term use. it is typically powered off, but can be powered on remotely via ipmi.

3D Printers

IP addresses for all the 3D printer pis can be found on the Network Resources page.

Raspberry Pi 3

These Raspberry Pis run Octoprint to control the 3D printers on the LAN. The wifi cards are failing and Ethernet connections are required.

  • 1GB RAM
  • Quad Core 1.2GHz Broadcom CPU

The software updates for these devices are being managed through Ansible.

Raspberry Pi 4B

One 4GB Raspberry Pi 4B is running Fluidd to control the Ender 5 Plus 3D printer on LAN.
