Minutes
- Announcements/new business:
- Operations:
- Wish list migration - Sarah B.
- Using MyRegistry.com
- We can add items directly from the browser with a chrome browser extension
- You can mark list items as "private" to keep them on the list but hidden, i.e. we have them in stock but expect to run out periodically
- Still have a few items from the old wishlist that need more info to go on MyRegistry, e.g. washers (what size?)
- Wish list migration - Sarah B.
- Financial:
- We have more or less retired Rerun in favor of PayPal invoices
- Financial Position: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nYIjTEdrX1RQs9-vbyNsZlvMszWVKeOr/view?usp=drive_link
- Financial Activity: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YtjR0eah0q12yPT7MSjXVVdzyFyUnrhz/view?usp=sharing
- Finances doing great, we are actually in the black this year.
- Joe reached out to Nation of Makers to see what things other hackerspaces track on a monthly basis. Some responses include:
- Financial position
- Number of members gained/lost
- Profit/loss
- Gender identities/ethnicities
- Time from initial contact to starting a membership (can we use link shortener to track interest from us doing events?)
- Things we have already started tracking better: event attendance, volunteer hours
- Can we do a monthly "report card" to see how we're performing each month?
- Membership:
- Gained one or two new members, have several in the works (a good number of volunteers). We are around 30-40 members now, including volunteers (which are harder to track since they don't pay monthly)
- Application form has been updated with the changes discussed last month
- Membership tracking spreadsheet hasn't made much progress
- Benevity has been set up so companies can do donation matching
- Outreach:
- Social media posts for events - Sarah B.
- One quick takeaway from the message Sarah posted in #operations, we should use some tools to unify social media posts/accounts to make it easier to do.
- Grant opportunity spreadsheet has been made.
- Nate has been getting Xander started with the Creative Washtenaw grant
- Social media posts for events - Sarah B.
- Education:
- Mesh network class idea is in the works (Nate Y./Mike Z.). September timeline.
- Joe D. would like to do a nail art class; needs to do some more research on the techniques. September timeline.
