Fund Matching

Member Matching

  • Needed:
    • Coordinator + Team
      • Gather list of members who have or may want to funds-match
      • Work with Funds Matching team to reach out to members who have/may match
  • Idea:
    • In outreach, include language that encourages donors to look into employer fund matching

    • Coordinator + Team
      • Update list of local businesses that have or may want to funds-match (list is in Google Docs)
      • Work with Funds Matching team to reach out to businesses who have/may match
  • Idea:
    • Create (or recreate or simply style) a pitch sheet for businesses that includes...
      • Info about AHA
      • What they can expect to gain from funds-matching (e.g., free advertising, tax write off, other possible benefits)

Fundraising Events

Holiday / 14th Anniversary Party

  • Needed:
    • Volunteers to help plan & host (w/ Nate)
  • Ideas:
    • Finger foods, beverages, live music

    • Volunteers to help staff events
  • Ideas:

    • The final event on Dec. 23 is the "Last Chance!" event where people can make any of the gifts
  • Logistics:
    • Themes planned are Sandblasting, Laser Cutting, 3D Printing, and Soldering
    • Backup theme is CNC (if a suitable project can be found)

Other Possible Events

  • Online event: Maker Show & Tell?
    • James will ask David
  • Giving^2: Make 2, donate 1 crafts (i.e., crochet/sew 2 hats or scarves w/ a 1hr pattern, keep 1 to gift, donate 1)
    • Could possibly be an online event
  • Gift-themed classes (e.g., shadow box class, etc.)
  • Just rebrand all our Dec. events as holiday events & theme them for the holiday
    • Repairsday would be an excellent option for this
  • Anti-Black Friday event; come make a gift and donate what you would've spent to AHA
  • Tie in Small Business Saturday to the Open Hours Gift-making Event on Nov. 25
    • Possibly do soap carving using BYOC soaps?

Interest-generating Ideas

  • Coupons at local businesses for attending a holiday event?
