What is my primary goal?

  • Make people feel welcome! You can do this by greeting everyone that comes into the shop, knowing where things are and how people can participate in making stuff! If you are on this page, you're a beautiful human being. Thank you : )

General steps to figuring out how to do something

  • If it's an emergency/danger, call 911
  • Search for it on the Wiki (Good job!)
  • Search for it on the AHA Website
  • Ask someone around the shop.
  • Send an email to the mailing list, or if you really need to know right now:
    • Check out the contact list behind the front desk to call Josh, Nate, Dana, Larry, etc.

Where is all the physical stuff?

  • Tour AHA! See if you can find all these things:
    • Safety Kits/First Aid!
    • Membership/Liability Forms
    • Soldering irons in the Electronics Section
    • Sewing machines in the Craft area
    • A Power Drill in a bin in the Power Tools section
    • 3D Printer and LASER Cutting Prototyping Tools
    • Dishes and Paper Towels in the Kitchen/Cleaning Supplies Area
    • Extra Paper in the Office Supplies Filing Cabinets
  • Don't worry if you can't find all these things on your first day  : )

Where are all the documents, events, online stuff?

To be categorized

  • difference between members and non members/how to lock up
  • its okay to be on your computer, but MUST be aware of people coming in and out and greeting them asap.
  • what happens when internet goes out
  • what do I do if I don't know the answer and no one else is around
  • list of general contacts for resources (josh-management and rental. Tyler-3d printer. Dana-kids camps etc etc)
  • knowing where equipment is and house supplies. (Paper towels, cleaning supplies etc)
  • contact information is a plus:
  • who has 24/7 access so you do not have to worry about kicking people out
  • who is in charge of upcoming classes, say for instance a member/nonmember is wanting to take intro to soldering, and they have a few questions but you do not know, who they should contact that's teaching that class (if that makes sense)
