 Being awesome

 Have read over this page

  • Your primary goal above all else is to do your best to make people feel comfortable making stuff at AHA
  • Below you will find a laundry list of random things you should work towards. These are things that you should be thinking about, and after your 2nd or 3rd shift should feel comfortable referencing everything in here.

Closing Up/Who can stay?

  1. There is a basic 'closing up shop' list attached to the inside downstairs front door. I don't think that file is online ATM, but it is on the door.
  2. All active paying members have an access code / key. The only way to find out if someone can stay behind is if they have one of those items.
    1. Make sure people are active members by asking them to unlock the downstairs door for you.
    2. Yes, this may be inconvenient for everyone, but everyone knows the drill. Don't worry about bugging someone ; )
      1. If one of those members is willing to vouch for other people, that is fine.
    3. We could use some help maintaining an active members list, if you think you can do this, please contact Larry!

To be categorized

  • When arriving for your shift, turn on the light switch at the top of the stairs, and switch on the 'open' sign
  • Make sure to check whether the door is locked or not - then unlock it!
  • difference between members and non members/how to lock up
  • its okay to be on your computer, but MUST be aware of people coming in and out and greeting them asap.
  • what happens when internet goes out
  • what do I do if I don't know the answer and no one else is around
  • list of general contacts for resources (josh-management and rental. Tyler-3d printer. Dana-kids camps etc etc)
  • knowing where equipment is and house supplies. (Paper towels, cleaning supplies etc)
  • contact information is a plus:
  • who has 24/7 access so you do not have to worry about kicking people out
  • who is in charge of upcoming classes, say for instance a member/nonmember is wanting to take intro to soldering, and they have a few questions but you do not know, who they should contact that's teaching that class (if that makes sense)
