    1. Location: Kitty corner to the downstairs front entrance. On top of a shelving unit, just right of Dogfort Entrance
    2. Purpose: General use. Please avoid hogging bandwidth.
    3. Supports wired & wireless connections
    4. Wireless SSID: AHOPS
    5. Wireless Code: See workstation tables for printout of code
    6. Connected to it:
      1. NetGear FS524 (Wired Connections)
        1. Location: In the main space on the general worktable

Comcast | 16mbps/2mbps

  1. Connection to outside world: Comcast Provided Cable Modem SMCD3G-CCR, SN H2115021D3E5, iden 1153
    1. Location: Kitty corner to the downstairs front entrance. On top of a shelving unit, just above Dogfort Entrance# NetGear Router -
    2. Purpose: Primarily for the paid stations, low ping times are extremely important. Please avoid torrenting, streaming super HD video, etc.
    3. Supports wired connections
    4. At least one static IP
    5. Connected to it:
      1. Netgear Router
        1. DHCP Enabled
        2. Connected to both Comcast & AT&T Modems, but currently rocking out on the Comcast Line
        3. A couple dozen Cat-5 cables run into a patch panel above the NetGear. All the paid workstations, shift machine, and accounting machine connects here.
      2. Linksys Wireless WRT54G running DDWRT
        1. DHCP Enabled
        2. Wireless SSID: dopsinternal
        3. Wireless Code: Ask a member!

Problems

  1. Dude my game is lagging?
    1. Open "Ping Check" from the desktop alternatively open "Command Prompt" from the start menu and type "ping google.com -t" press enter
      1. Under 100ms good sign check individual computer
      2. Over 100ms probs comcast issue skip to step 4
      3. If it says time out, wait one or two minutes, notify customers that we are waiting for return.
    2. Check all computers for HD streaming, torrentting , or patching
      1. Polity Request they not do shady bandwidth stealing business on the gaming network
    3. Steam Games are being odd
      1. Ask Gamer to pause Alt/Tab and right click STEAM to enter library
      2. Check and pause nonessential downloads and patches
    4. Still laggy?
      1. Get a chair and unplug the modem (the Comcast one above the lair door) wait 30s-1min and re-plug *close out ping check before unplugging modem
      2. Wait a few minutes and do a "Ping Check"
    5. ARGH! the masses are getting impatient and still no internet
      1. Call Comcast at 1-800-391-3011
      2. All the info you will need for this interaction is taped to the side of the register
      3. Except the address which is: 525 E. Liberty Ann Arbor, MI
      4. Inform Gamers of status of fix ie. Comcast said 20 mins or Comcast said 10 hours
