Steps to take for volunteering

Check-in

  1. Open the main door
  2. Turn on the lights, even the classroom
  3. If a good weather day and you won't forget at the end, set up the sign in front of the main building entrance
  4. Turn on the open sign next to the main entrance
  5. Scan the keycard stored in the task rack at the exterior door on the first floor
  6. If its repairsday and during the summer, put the AADL Summer Game Code out in a visible location, like tape it above the restroom code. Remove it when done. It is stored behind the public computer

During hours

Open Hours
  1. offer and give tours
  2. Tidy the space during downtime
  3. If someone shows up to use the equipment, collect a liability form from them before letting them use the tools
Repairsday
  1. Help fix things!
  2. Get people who bring things in to sign a liability form as a precaution.
  3. if you don't know how to fix something, please politely direct the person to someone who can.
    1. if that person is busy, don't be afraid to take a stab at fixing it. Let the person know you might not be able to fix it, and give it a shot!!
