Steps to take for volunteering
Check-in
- Open the main door
- Turn on the lights, even the classroom
- If a good weather day and you won't forget at the end, set up the sign in front of the main building entrance
- Turn on the open sign next to the main entrance
- Scan the keycard stored in the task rack at the exterior door on the first floor
- If its repairsday and during the summer, put the AADL Summer Game Code out in a visible location, like tape it above the restroom code. Remove it when done. It is stored behind the public computer
During hours
Open Hours
- offer and give tours
- Tidy the space during downtime
- If someone shows up to use the equipment, collect a liability form from them before letting them use the tools
Repairsday
- Help fix things!
- Get people who bring things in to sign a liability form as a precaution.
- if you don't know how to fix something, please politely direct the person to someone who can.
- if that person is busy, don't be afraid to take a stab at fixing it. Let the person know you might not be able to fix it, and give it a shot!!
